Fishing Quest Privacy Policy

This privacy policy applies to the current local-first Fishing Quest prototype.

Summary

Fishing Quest stores your progress locally on your device. The app does not currently create an account, upload your fishing logs, collect analytics, show ads, or share your data with a backend.

Information you enter

You may choose to enter:

  • fishing trip/activity titles
  • date and time
  • broad location labels
  • notes
  • catch/species names
  • measurements
  • fishing methods
  • bait/lure or gear details

    • This information is used only to provide app features such as your logbook, XP, quests, collection progress, statistics, personal bests, backup export, and restore.

    Local storage

    Fishing Quest currently stores your progress locally on your device using app storage. There is no account or cloud sync in the current version.

    If you uninstall the app or clear its local data, your progress may be removed from that device unless you have exported a backup.

    Export and restore

    Fishing Quest lets you export a JSON backup using your device share sheet. You choose where that backup is saved or sent.

    If you choose to export your data to another app or service, that app or service may process it under its own privacy policy. Fishing Quest does not control third-party destinations you select from the share sheet.

    Data we do not currently collect

    The current version does not request or collect:

  • account information
  • precise GPS location
  • photos or videos
  • contacts
  • payment information
  • advertising identifiers
  • analytics events
  • crash reports or diagnostics sent to the developer
  • push notification tokens

    • Permissions

    The current version does not request GPS, camera, photo library, push notification, or account permissions.

    If future versions add features such as photos, GPS, accounts, cloud sync, analytics, or crash reporting, this policy should be updated before those features are released.

    Data sharing

    Fishing Quest does not currently share your app data with the developer, advertising networks, analytics providers, or a backend service.

    Deleting your data

    You can clear local app data from inside the app. Because the current version has no account or backend sync, there is no remote account deletion process.

    If future versions add accounts or cloud sync, account deletion and remote data deletion instructions must be added before release.

    Children

    Fishing Quest is intended for general recreational fishing use. It is not specifically directed at children. Store target-audience declarations should be completed before public release.
